Jewelry Care
General Care
- These tips apply to most jewelry types (exceptions: pearls or beads knotted on silk):
- If a deep clean is needed - Clean with a soft toothbrush and warm water with a drop of mild dish soap. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
- Store separately from other items to avoid scratches.
- Avoid swimming or hot tubs - chlorine and other chemicals can cause severe damage to your jewelry.
- Keep jewelry away from moisture (do not store in the bathroom).
- Avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes, bleach, and cleaning products.
Sterling Silver (Bright Finish)
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time. To slow this process:
- Follow the general care guidelines above.
- Store in a dry, airtight container or anti-tarnish bag.
- If tarnish appears, polish gently with a polishing cloth. Avoid dips or harsh cleaners.
Antiqued Sterling Silver (with natural patina)
These pieces are intentionally oxidized to highlight texture and detail. To maintain their finish:
- Follow the general care guidelines above.
- Avoid polishing the darkened areas.
- Use a polishing pad to carefully remove tarnish only from the areas you want to brighten. The pad gives more control than a cloth.
- Never use chemical or abrasive cleaners, as they can remove the patina.
Gold Jewelry
Gold doesn’t usually tarnish, but it can scratch or dull with wear. To care for it:
- Follow the general care guidelines above.
- Polish gently with
a polishing cloth. Avoid dips or harsh cleaners.
